Batman: The Killing Joke

Batman: The Killing Joke, is one of my favorite of the Batman comics....in the history of....well, of EVER!

I first came upon the Killing Joke as it was aimlessly handed to me by my father when I was only 11 years old, starting the long and prosperous "career" if you will of my comic book reading years. After fully finishing the book, I vowed to NEVER love another Batman comic so much as this one. The Killing Joke starts off with much thrill and excitement, which later turns into catastrophe and killing (hence the title, the Killing Joke...hahaha....) that Batman and the Robin, the Boy Wonder has to take down once again. But with the loss of the commissioner Gordan and the permanent handicap of his daughter (Batwoman), it makes it a very gruesome read for anyone, most of all an 11 year old. And that's probably why I am so sick and twisted come to date.

Anyways, the killing joke is a FANTASTIC read for any Comic book nerd out there, most of all its even great for a collector to have, being written by one of DC's most influential writers of all time, Alan Moore, writer of such greats as The Watchmen, and V For Vendetta, and drawn by one of DC's most widely known artists, Brian Bolland. All around, this makes it go down in the vault as one of "The Great's".

Also, In 2008 DC Comics reprinted the story in a deluxe hardcover edition. This Deluxe Edition features new coloring by Brian Bolland (of course), meant to illustrate his original intentions for the book, with more somber, realistic, and subdued colors than the intensely-colored original. Very touched up, and very graphic as I said before. I believe ALL Batman comics should be as this one.

Another 10/10 from one Nerd to another. Highly recommended for any Comic Book Nerd everywhere!
